Patch Notes

Version 0.66.2-PB - Economic Rationale

We’ve recently made a number of changes to vendor values across items, alongside the earlier adjustment to membership scroll pricing.

With these changes, we wanted to take a step back and explain the thinking behind them. The goal is to give a clear, high-level view of what’s been changing, why we’ve been doing it, and where we’re trying to take things.

By increasing vendor values, trades now carry a more meaningful cost, gold is removed more consistently through tax, and items have a stronger floor when it comes to pricing. It also adds a bit more weight to how items are transferred and used, which helps reduce some of the distortion we’ve been seeing around item movement and progression.

In the short term, the market may feel a bit unsettled as everything adjusts, which is to be expected. We’ll be keeping a close eye on how things behave over the coming weeks and making adjustments where needed.

Because our approach relies on letting the data come in, we can’t rule out further changes just yet. This could include things like increasing dungeon entry costs, lowering item drop rates, or adjusting item values if that ends up being the simplest option.

Things need time to settle before we have a clear picture of what’s actually happening. It’s also entirely possible that no further changes will be needed, but we need to give it that time before making the call. We’ll also be reviewing other areas of the game, such as egg drops, alchemy items, and Dragon Soulstones, so consider this a heads-up.

Version 0.66.1-PB - Bartering Changes

  • Due to changes to vendor values, it was possible to gain a large amount of bartering experience from a single item. Bartering experience is now capped at 20,000 EXP per item.

Version 0.66.0-PB - Item Value Increase

We have updated the vendor values for Legendary and Mythic forge items and their recipes to better match their actual value.

These values were previously too low for the strength, rarity, and market demand of the items involved. As a result, high-end items could be traded for very little tax, moved between players too cheaply, and used in low-cost item lending or forging services more often than intended.

We don't want to eliminate these services entirely. However, one of our goals is to increase the barrier to entry so they require more meaningful investment to access.

To improve this, we reviewed current player market prices and used them as the main reference point when setting the new vendor values. Mythic values were adjusted more closely to active market pricing, while Legendary values were tuned more carefully due to the wider difference between weaker and stronger items in that tier.

This update is intended to:

  • Give high-end items and recipes a more appropriate vendor floor
  • Increase trade tax on powerful items so it better matches their value
  • Reduce cheap item loaning and temporary transfers
  • Make low-cost forging handoffs less attractive
  • Let unwanted high-end items return a more reasonable amount of gold when sold to the game, without making vendoring the primary way to profit from them

We will keep an eye on the market after this change and make further adjustments if needed.
