Version 0.55.0-PB - Pet Improvements, Leagues, Parties, and more

We're very happy to introduce the release of Version 0.55.0-PB. A huge update to IMMO that has just a little bit for everyone.

Pet Changes

Pet Hunting

  • You can now send your pets on hunts.
  • You can send up to 10 pets on hunts. This limit is separate from battling, so it's possible to send 10 pets on a hunt, and another 10 pets on battles.
  • The pets hunt until they run out of stamina (We'll get to that soon). No health is used when hunting.
  • The effectiveness of how quick they can hunt an enemy depends on two stats: agility and movement speed. Agile pets will bring back more enemies than slower ones.

Pet Status Rework

  • We've removed pet happiness and hunger.
  • We’ve added stamina to pets as an alternative way to reduce the number of pets being used across multiple characters. You can read more about this in the blog post. In short, stamina introduces a soft cap that lets us manage the amount of loot and actions a player can generate across all characters, without relying on strict hard limits. This approach feels more natural.
  • Stamina can be replenished by Sleeping. You must manually send your pet to sleep.
  • The better quality the pet, the more stamina it has and the more efficient it is at using that stamina.

Pet Evolution

  • When a pet reaches level 100, you’ll be able to evolve it.
  • Evolving gives the pet a 5% boost to every stat but resets it back to level 1.
  • A pet can be evolved up to five times, allowing for a maximum bonus of 25% across all stats, including important ones like movement and fatigue.

Pet Effects

  • We’ve reworked the system so that pets can now gain effects, just like characters.
  • There are currently two ways to get effects for your pet: a bonus from pet mastery, and patting your pet.
  • Patting your pet now gives your pet a +5% stat bonus for 2 hours in its stats.

Pet Exchange

  • You can sell your pets by listing them on the Companion Exchange.
  • Every pet has a minimum listing value, entirely dependent on the pet itself, which is directly tied to its rarity and quality.
  • The minimum listing value increases as the pet increases in level.
  • Pet listings are automatically removed after 3 months.

Shard Pets

  • You can purchase mythic pets at the Celestial Exchange merchants page for an extremely high shard cost.
  • The shard cost for the first mythic pet is set at 300k. We are introducing an offer of 250k for the first few months.
  • The pet will not appear immediately in the Celestial Exchange. It may take some time for it to appear.

More Changes

  • Hunger and Happiness has been removed.
  • We've updated the pet UI to feel more intuitive, especially when you are rotating your pets and sending them on different actions. It could get a bit overwhelming when you have multiple pets with different actions and statuses.
  • We've added the ability to multi-select pets so you can feed them, send them on battles, send them on hunts or send them to sleep, without having to do it one-by-one.
  • The introduction of the overview box which will give you a quick overview on your current pets including pending loot, pending enemies (from hunting), and more breakdown stats.
  • Everyone now gets a free standard pet. You can choose to decline this free pet if your slots are full.
  • Pet battle EXP range has been increased from 0.3 -> 2.5 to 0.5 -> 3.
  • Pet mastery bonus now accounts for the exponential nature of EXP. A breakdown can be seen in the wiki.

Quests

  • Quests are a brand new feature in IdleMMO that let you dive deeper into the lore, interact with NPCs, and take on different challenges.
  • One of our main goals with quests is to give items more purpose. Right now, many items feel a little scattered in terms of their uses. Quests give us a flexible way to fix that. If an item feels pointless, we can design a quest around it and instantly give it meaning.
  • Before starting a quest, you must talk to the quest giver and complete the dialogue.
  • Quests can distribute gold, items, and shards as rewards. The later quests distribute shards as a reward.
  • Each location has a quest completion requirement before you can unlock the quests. This prevents people from accessing the top quests immediately. You must start your quests at Bluebell hollow.
  • You can view the quest completion requirement breakdown on the wiki page.
  • Some quests have a quest line attached to them. Meaning, once you complete a quest, it will unlock another. But you will have to wait some time before you can complete the subsequent quests in the chain.
  • There are more than 100 quests. Some are lore building. Some are built for fun. Theres a mix of everything.
  • More quests will be introduced in the future.

Parties

  • Parties allow you to team up with other players.
  • You can invite other players to your party, or join up with your friends in their parties.
  • Right now, parties are exclusive to Leagues but this gives us room to add more mechanics to parties in the future.

Leagues

  • Leagues let you compete against other parties.
  • Each league focuses on a specific skill, and they run for different lengths of time. For example, there might be a Woodcutting League that lasts 14 days, where every party in that league competes to earn the most experience in woodcutting.
  • Leagues can last for a few days, two weeks, or even a full month. Each one is different.
  • The rewards depend on the length of the league. For instance, a league that is 30 days long will have better rewards than a league that is 14 days long.
  • Everyone in the party obtains the reward equally.
  • A league can also be isolated to specific classes. So, it's possible for a league to be specific to just classes like Cursed or Forsaken.

Few things to keep in mind:

  • The party leader has the option to withdraw the party from a league.
  • Once a party joins a league, no new members can be added.
  • Your party can join multiple leagues at once, but you can’t change your party until a league has ended.
  • You’re free to leave a party at any time, but you won’t be able to rejoin until that league has finished or if the party leaves the league.
  • Leaving the league removes all progress. Rejoining a league after it has been left will not return any progress.

UI Improvements

  • We’ve carefully reviewed the entire app and given it a complete makeover.
  • Most of the UI updates apply to the Web App, but the mobile app has also received some visual improvements.
  • More UI updates will be released in the future to ensure a consistent and unified look across the entire platform.
  • We’ve added new customization options, including the ability to move the hamburger menu (on the Web App for mobile devices) and adjust brightness and contrast for better visibility when dark elements don’t display correctly on your device.

Wiki

  • We've completely overhauled the wiki. The old wiki is still available, but it is slowly being phased out, and will be completely inaccessible in the future.
  • The new wiki can be accessed directly at https://wiki.idle-mmo.com
  • We've expanded on the wiki - adding more breakdowns, better details, and examples in various areas.

Lore

  • We've taken a substantial amount of time writing up the lore, making sure that the in-game actions and dialogues from quests match the overarching universe that is happening in the world of Valaron.
  • You can read the lore in the Wiki.
  • We will be continually adding lore to IdleMMO as the game matures and as we introduce more quests in the future.

Guilds

  • Guild officers can now schedule energizing pools.
  • We've doubled the effect of all guild weapons in the armoury.

Hunting

  • Your idle time for hunting is no longer limited by your Hunting Mastery level. You will now always hunt to the maximum idle time that your character permits.
  • Updated hunting UI to show you the subsequent enemies that are being hunted.

Purchase Orders

  • Removed 3 hours and 6 hours purchase order.
  • Default PO time is now 12 hours and no additional fee.
  • Reduced fee for 24 hours from +2% to +1%.
  • Reduced fee for 48 hours from +3% to +2%.

More

  • We've increased the maximum purchasable inventory slots to 21.
  • Updated the membership page to give a better breakdown on the membership benefits.
  • We've introduced changes that should make some pages feel much snappier.
  • The gold limit of market items has been increased to 100 million gold (from 10 million gold)
  • Removed the tavern experimentation notice.
  • Combat skill for dungeons is no longer used for the requirements.
  • Selecting a tag on the tavern now persists when you navigate back to the tavern at a later date.
  • Added the ability to search for characters when pressing on the "Trade" button on your profile, rather than having to navigate to the other characters profile.
  • Ascension level is now shown on the leaderboards.
  • Added notification number to the page title on the Web App.
  • Enabling auto-purchase now automatically sets the maximum to the maximum number according to the idle time.
  • Certain areas in the game are now locked out according to your characters total level. For instance, leagues can only be accessed when total level 150 or higher.
  • Added the ability to search for guilds in the global search.
  • Market listings are now automatically removed after 3 months. It may take some time for existing listings to be removed from the market.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that prevented guild renaming from working on certain devices.
  • Fixed bug that prevented the creation of purchase orders for Dragon Soulstones.
  • Fixed missing commas on some numbers on the museum.
  • Fixed bug that displayed the incorrect time when repairing a guild hall.
  • Fixed inconsistency in specific circumstances where the rounding of numbers on the web app didn't match.
  • Fixed broken daily reward icon on the Web App.
  • Fixed a bug that removed a pet from the museum when releasing it. WARNING: Please ensure the pet is in your museum before releasing it as it needs to sync up. If you can see the pet in your museum, it's good to go. This only applies to pets hatched before v0.55.0.
  • Fixed bug that sometimes prevented the campaign page from being updated when switching between campaigns.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented you from scrolling to the bottom of the trade box.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed you to trade with yourself.
  • Fixed visual rounding bug on the battle breakdown when the hit chances was being incorrectly displayed.
  • [Public API] Fixed missing effects from potions.
  • [Public API] Fixed incorrect health
  • [Public API] Fixed error 500 status code when accessing the characters current action endpoint when in a world boss lobby.

This is a preview. Version 0.55.0-PB will release later this month.

  • Fixed the conquest page showing the wrong zone states when previewing a past season.

Version 0.54.0-PB - Daily Reward Rework, Guild Armoury + More

Daily Reward

  • You can now build up a daily reward streak by claiming your reward every day.
  • If you miss a day, you have 48 hours to restore your streak for 300 tokens.
  • Streak milestones now give you a magic find bonus. At 10 days you gain 1% magic find. At 100 days you gain 10%. Free members can only reach up to 5%.
  • Rewards have been updated and now stretch up to 50 days instead of 30. The daily reward system also gives out more items and shards.
  • The streaks start counting from today. We do not have historic data to count any past streaks.

Guild Armoury

  • The Armoury is a guild hall component where guilds can buy and use powerful items that give temporary boosts to their members.
  • There are 6 weapons available: Trebuchet, Battering Ram, Explosive Keg, Scorpion, Medical Kit Station, and Medical Tent.
  • Guilds can purchase these items with resources and marks.
  • Each item has a cooldown of 1 hour.
  • Any member ranked Soldier or higher can use these weapons. They are one time use. For example, if your guild owns 6 Battering Rams, then 6 members can each take one. Once used, it cannot be returned, and its effect is applied immediately.
  • Members cannot use the same weapon more than once at the same time. For example, you cannot use 2 Battering Rams together. You must wait for the first one to expire, which currently takes 3 hours.
  • Different weapons can be stacked. For example, a member can use a Battering Ram and a Trebuchet at the same time.
  • Please note that the effects and the costs of these weapons will be gradually adjusted over the course of several weeks. Including the possible introduction of more weapons.

Assault Changes

  • The limit of 1 assault on 1 location has been removed. Guilds can now assault multiple locations at the same time if there are enough members to cover them.
  • The cost of assaults has been reduced to 1 mark per hour, instead of 4 marks for 3 hours.
  • Conquest rewards are now given to the top 25 players instead of only the top 10.

Mob Changes

We fixed a bug in the enemy scaling system. The problem was that enemies of the same level weren’t showing their real differences in power. For example, the Arvendor Guardian was meant to be much stronger than a Will-o’-the-Wisp, even though both are level 100. Because of the bug, they ended up with the same strength, which was never intended.

The issue came from the health formula. It didn’t properly include each enemy’s base power, so scaling treated them as equal. We’ve adjusted the system so it now works as it should. This means some enemies, especially those in the Citadel, will feel tougher than others even when they share the same level. You might also notice small changes when fighting other enemies, scaled or not, since the health formula has been updated across the board. These changes should be minor, but in some cases battle outcomes may be a little different.

More Changes

  • You can now see your current action on the app menu page. This can be turned on in your settings.
  • Shrine token conversion has been increased to 700 gold per token.
  • Shard count is now shown on your character profile.
  • The background of special vendor skins has been darkened so they no longer clash with the skins themselves.
  • You can now disable the mailbox. This setting is per character.
  • You can now hide the Recent Loot box.
  • You can also choose to hide your own loot so it does not appear in the Recent Loot box.
  • Battles that are part of an assault now show an icon and badge when queued.
  • The Recent Loot box has been improved to show the actual item icon instead of the recipe.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the registration pop-up did not close for new members.
  • Fixed precision display for combat EXP/s.
  • Fixed a bug where purchase orders could not be fulfilled if the character’s inventory was full.
  • Fixed tax discrepancy bug. Previously items were taxed at a bulk which resulted in unexpected behaviour in the calculation at certain amounts. We have changed it so the tax is applied per item, rather than bulk. This makes it match up with the UI so it is more clear on how much you are being taxed per item.
  • Fixed an issue that made it hard to switch between characters in the app.
  • Fixed a typo on Tarnished Bait.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the energy pool to activate twice.
  • Fixed precision errors on the battle detail page.
  • Fixed a rare bug that caused the conquest

Public API Changes

  • Deprecated last_activity from the character inspection endpoint. This will default to the beginning of the year. It will be removed in a future update.
  • Added online_status to the character inspection endpoint.
  • Clarified response documentation for the item inspection endpoint.
  • Fixed effects not correctly displaying for essence crystals.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed API keys with a higher rate limit to bypass the rate limit by rotating between keys.
